EMTEE: "IM SO POUD OF NASTY C"

The phrase “new school” is synonymous with rap music; we are always excited to watch young talent progress and in South Africa there is no doubt that all eyes are on Emtee and Nasty C. The youngsters are not just delivering hot bars, but they are breaking international boundaries too.
MTV Base spoke to Emtee recently and he revealed that instead of feeling the need to compete with his peer, he feels nothing but happiness at Nasty’s success.
“I’m finally happy that the kids have a voice. We’ve always been taken advantage of, but we’re bringing the kids back. Nasty C inspires me; his mind is way ahead of its time, both lyrically and personally. I respect him for always staying down and knowing what’s what. I’m proud of him man.”
On his BET Award 2016 nomination, Mr Avery, we asked him if he was expecting it:
“Hell no, I wasn’t! I get surprised each and every day. Where I come from it feels like there’s no hope at all. Getting a nomination like this inspires me as well. As much as it inspires other kids, it inspires me because it shows the kids that anything is possible. Everything is within you. Keep a positive mindset and always be grateful.”
