KANYE WEST ON KIM’S NUDITY: “TO NOT SHOW IT WOULD BE LIKE ADELE NOT SINGING”

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are easily the most talked about celebrity couple in the world. It’s been that way for a few years now, save Beyonce and Jay Z‘s elevator incident. Recently, however, it’s been the Kim Kardashian show. While Kanye cuts deals with adidas and tracks with Gucci Mane, Kim has appeared on the cover of Forbes magazine and revived one of the biggest pop culture beefs
of the 2000’s, thanks to her unearthing of the “Famous” phone conversation between her husband and Taylor Swift. (In a nutshell, the latter denied, via her publicist, that the phone call never happened. In response, Kim uploaded video snippets of it to her Snapchat.) Publicly shaming America’s sweetheart, Swift, has temporarily made Kardashian a hero, but the criticism about her will always be that she rarely has clothes on in her big moments.

Kanye’s opinion of his wife’s nudity will always be another topic of conversation. He’s casually admitted to the fact that the reason we all know her name is because of a sex tape, and she’s remained famous–no pun intended–by consistently baring her nude assets for high profile cameras and selfies, from GQ to Instagram. To use the term loosely, it’s a business for Kardashian, one that helps her E! show break records annually, and one that gives her a platform where she can make $45 million off an iPhone game and get the cover of Forbes.

But what does Kanye think about it? Just what you might expect, as told to Laura Brown for the couple’s Harper’s Bazaar cover:

I just love seeing her naked; I love nudity. And I love beautiful shapes. I feel like it’s almost a Renaissance thing, a painting, a modern version of a painting. I think it’s important for Kim to have her figure. To not show it would be like Adele not singing.

Do remember, according to Kanye, it was Kim who helped get him out of debt. Whatever you think of that “business,” it must stay open.
